Facility Energy Audits

A facility energy audit performed in-house by EPCO professionals is the most effective way to discover opportunities to improve building or campus energy efficiency. Utilizing the ASHRAE Energy Audit Levels model, the audit will evaluate the current facility systems and help identify specific methods of reducing your long-term operating costs.

Upon completing the facility audit, our team will craft an energy roadmap that meets your specific goals and provides you with only the most impactful energy management solutions. Schedule an audit today with our team.

Commercial Building Lighting Audit

A Lighting Audit is the first step towards realizing your simple payback. A Lighting Audit is a great place to start, whether it is a one-for-one replacement, LED upgrade, or a complete lighting redesign utilizing automated controls.

A commercial building lighting audit systematically collects and analyzes data on a building’s lighting conditions, energy use, and occupant behavior. The audit documents existing conditions related to lighting, lighting controls, and general electrical systems. The audit can help identify where installing new fixtures or re-lamping may reduce maintenance costs.

What Does ASHRAE Stand For?

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (or ASHRAE for short) was formed in 1959 through the merger of the American Society of Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) with the American Society of Refrigerating Engineers (ASRE).

Both entities have been around for more than 100+ years separately, and EPCO is proud to be a part of the ASHRAE family. Learn more about ASHRAE here.

ASHRAE Level 1 Energy Audit

Level 1 – Walk-Through Survey.

The Level 1 energy audit is also referred to as a “simple audit,” “screening audit,” or “walk-through audit.” This walk-through survey is where you’ll start to learn how to reduce the energy consumption within your building and achieve better energy optimization.

EPCO professionals will also discover and present additional ways of bringing more energy efficiency to your building for enhanced ROI during this first level.

ASHRAE Level 2 Energy Audit

Level 2 – Energy Survey and Analysis.

The Level 2 energy audit builds upon the findings from the Level 1 audit. EPCO auditors will help evaluate your building’s energy systems in in-depth detail.

At this level, the goal is to define better, more impactful energy efficiency implementation opportunities for your system overall.

ASHRAE Level 3 Energy Audit

Level 3 – Detailed Analysis of Capital-Intensive Modifications

Finally, the Level 3 energy audit uses a “whole-building” approach, utilizing software to accurately model how the brick-and-mortar would respond to changes in the energy systems.

This step is where the energy engineering rubber meets the road with EPCO’s efficient energy solutions such as HVAC retrofits and architectural modifications to walls, windows, and your roof.

Where Are Your Facility Bottlenecks?

A Facility Audit is the simplest and most effective way to evaluate a current system and identify methods of reducing long-term operating costs. Upon completion of the audit, our team will craft an energy plan that embodies our “Three-E” approach and meets your specific goals and objectives.
