Project Details
Located on Cleveland’s East-side, Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a private Catholic elementary school serving children from Pre-K to 8th grade. The campus consists of a Church, Elementary School, and Gymnasium. Prior to EPCO’s involvement the campus was relying upon outdated and inefficient lighting. Complaints of strained vision, continuing maintenance, and “gloomy” spaces were common, necessitating the design and implementation of a complete Capital-Improvement project incorporating 90% of the campus. In addition to the usage of LED fixture technologies, the 5 year maintenance cost was substantially reduced.
Immediately the economic impact of the project could be felt as the school was saving over $39,000.00 within its first year and when coupled with an initial rebate of $19,326.00 the project is on track to for a simple payback of less than 4 years and a 10-year energy savings of nearing $400,000.00.
The use of energy efficient LED, CFL, and T-5 fluorescent fixtures has allowed Our Lady of Mount Carmel to drastically reduce their yearly energy consumption by 390,133 kilowatt hours and reduce their annual carbon emissions by over 390,133 pounds.
Testimonial: “Teachers score the new classroom lighting a 15 out of 10 and during Mass the parishioners can now read their missalettes.” – Bob Crosby, Head of Facilities
